Our Story
Background

Established in 1991 by Col. Altaf Elahi Malik, Malik Maula Bakhsh Memorial Trust (MMBMT) is a tribute to his father, Malik Maula Bakhsh, a distinguished lawyer in Mianwali renowned for his philanthropic endeavors. Rooted in a deep commitment to community upliftment, MMBMT endeavors to empower the underprivileged through education, vocational training, and welfare initiatives.

Our founding principles, set forth in 1991, remain:
-
Provide material assistance to talented and deserving students
-
Assist in the expansion of existing educational facilities
-
Establish new educational institutions where necessary
-
Implement other welfare measures for aiding the poor

In 1998, MMBMT expanded its reach by opening an office in Maryland, USA, under the name MMBMT USA, Inc. We successfully attained 501(c)(3) status, ensuring that all donations are tax-exempt, and continue to maintain good standing.

At the heart of MMBMT's philosophy is the belief that educating women and girls is pivotal to uplifting communities and fostering economic prosperity. Over two decades, we have established and managed numerous girls' schools in impoverished areas, often lacking basic infrastructure. Our holistic approach includes extensive teacher training and a focus on health, hygiene, and environmental awareness, with hundreds of trees planted to date. Once established, many of these schools have been handed over to local communities, where they continue to thrive.

In addition to our educational initiatives, MMBMT is deeply involved in vocational training projects. We've partnered with organizations like the Ayesha Resource Center in Kundian, where we've established centers providing dressmaking training to women from resource-constrained households. These programs have not only empowered women but have also led to the creation of sustainable employment opportunities, such as our clothing boutique initiative.

Our Recent Initiative: HerDomain

Recently, MMBMT launched HerDomain.com to provide coding education to lower and middle-class girls, leveraging both onsite and virtual training methods. This innovative project aims to bridge the digital divide and equip young women with valuable skills for the future.

As a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, MMBMT is committed to transparency, accountability, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Together with our supporters and partners, we continue to build a brighter future for communities in need
